This poem was made for his wife Mary Hutchison. The poem splits off to three moments with her when they met, how they got to know each other, and finally their marriage. The first stanza shows the voices first interaction with her. Describing her beauty which had him interested he compared her eye to the stars. Along with her being described as a phantom that brought a power presence that delighted and horror him. The second stanza explains how they got to know each other. The voice describes the clearer picture through her visual beauty. The voice explained that the phantom wasn't the smartest and entirely good. She feels pain but not for long and starts show her love, praise, kisses, and smiles. Finally the last stanza show the voices marriage with the phantom stating out her traits which defined her as the perfect women. She is his to warn, comfort, and command. From this poem Wordsworth described beauty through his wife along with what he loved about her and their time together.
